Cuisine is the best way to experience a new country like a pro, and I’m sure it is one of everyone’s ways of making a trip completely worth it. Since I visited Gozo last month, in this article, I’d share some interesting spots where you can eat a tasty meal or enjoy a quick snack if you also plan on visiting soon. I’ll also share a helpful trick if you’re the kind of person who’d rather stay in and try food delivery options instead.
1. Casa Vostra (★★★★★)
This restaurant was simply excellent. It offers tasty, fresh, authentic Italian cuisine, with plenty of options to try, of course, including classic Italian pizzas and pasta. You can try a variety of pizzas there, including the speciality of the day; however, the tomato soup is my personal favourite.

2. Maldonado (★★★★★)

Tucked away in Victoria, this spot is known for its warm atmosphere, quality ingredients, and a menu that perfectly represents Mediterranean and international flavours. One of their highlights is the homemade bread, which is easily some of the best you’ll find on the island, and even Irish-style! And if you’re a cheese lover, their three-dish cheese soufflé is an absolute must-try. It’s rich, flavorful, and one of those dishes you’ll keep craving long after your meal.
P.S. They also offer cooking classes during the day in their air-conditioned open kitchen.
3. Ta’ Frenċ (★★★★★)

If you’re in the mood for an elegant dining experience in Gozo, Ta’ Frenċ is the place to go. This restaurant is all about quality, from its refined menu to its beautifully presented dishes. It’s the kind of place where every detail is carefully thought out, making it perfect for a special night out.
Their menu features a mix of Mediterranean and French-inspired cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients to create rich flavours. Whether you go for seafood, a perfectly cooked steak, or one of their signature dishes, you’re in for a treat.
4. Chapeau Bistro (★★★★★)
And the best bagels’ price goes to…Chapeau Bistro, you guessed it! We found this place last minute, so I’m glad it was worth it. The bagels were full of flavour, accompanied by a salad on the side. If you’re a bagel lover or just looking for a filling and tasty meal, this spot is suggested.
5. Dough (★★★)
For a quick coffee or dessert, you can stop by Dough, Desserts, and Bakes and explore their options. I only tried a cappuccino here, so I cannot say much about the desserts, but it did seem like they had some tasty alternatives.

6. Manouche Craft Bakery & Bistro Gozo (★★★)
Manouche Craft Bakery & Bistro is a cute spot for a pleasant afternoon coffee and dessert, located in the St.George piazza. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the French music in the background made the vibe even better. The lemon cake wasn’t particularly excellent, but there are other sweet options worth giving it a try.

7. Ordering Food Online
Bolt Food and Wolt both operate in Malta, and you can simply order food online within just a few minutes. Here’s a tip: if you’re a first user of Wolt, or if you sign up from a different account, you can find coupon codes online and get some percentage off any order. This is the coupon code we used:

If you love Asian food, Ping’s Dynasty Sushi Chinese Restaurant is one alternative to consider in Gozo. (I’d give it a 3/5). And for Indian food, we tried Trishna A Taste Of India (2/5, because it was too spicy for my taste!).
